John and Jane were faithful members of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Paw Paw. John was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and a Daughter, Stephanie Anne Makowski. Jane Makowski, Son, Stephen Gerard, Daughters, Michele (Jeff) Sivley and Melissa (Gerald Daniels) Makowski, Son, Michael (Vicki) Makowski, eight Grandchildren, Rachel, Melissa (Courtney), Clayton (Cheyenne), Stephanie, David, Ericka, Emily, & Ethan, two Great-Grandchildren, Cayla and Haylie, Brother-in-law, Melville (Madge) Hazen, and a host of other loving family and friends. He worked as a teacher for Alliance, and Orchard Lake St Mary's Prep, before retiring from Paw Paw High School after 40 years. John earned his Master's Degree in Education from Wayne State University. He attended Seminary School for a brief period before eventually graduating from Gannon University in Erie. John attended Catholic School and graduated from Cathedral Prep in Erie, PA. He was born on Jin Oil City, PA, the son of Frank and Barbara (Jamroz) Makowski. Roy Daniel Meyer, 74, of Paw Paw, passed away Monday Novemat the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, after a six month courageous battle with cancer. In 2008, Roy was awarded the Paw Paw Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year Award and in 2019 he received the Paw Paw Area Rotary "Pride Award" recognizing the pride and dedication Roy demonstrated to his community. He also sponsored many events like golf outings, to help others in need. Roy's generosity also carried over to the area schools where he was a sponsor of the athletics, including little league baseball and soccer. He would generously donate wood to build floats for parades and picnic tables for people to sit and visit at. Roy donated his time and materials to many community organizations and events.

He believed in giving back to the community and staying involved. The Paw Paw community and surrounding communities were very special to Roy. Following their 50th wedding anniversary, Roy and Adele, along with their family, celebrated this milestone by taking a cruise to Alaska. His motto was "work hard, play hard, be surrounded by family. For over 43 years, Roy and all of his family members have played a significant role in the continued success of the family business. As his business continued to grow, Roy finally built Meyer Wood Products at the current location on Red Arrow Highway in 1983. After two years of being in business, Roy began renting the back portion of the original Ace Hardware store in town. During his time teaching, Roy started his woodworking business in the garage of the family home. In 1970, he began working in Lawrence where he was an Industrial Education Teacher, retiring after 28 years in 1998. Roy graduated from Western Michigan University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. On June 28, 1969, he married the love of his life, Adele (Tarsi) Meyer in Iron River, Michigan. Roy's life began February 23, 1947, in Stambaugh, Michigan, where he was born the son of the late Donald Meyer and Marilyn (Zyskowski ) Meyer. Roy Meyer led a truly extraordinary life that revolved around his faith, family, friends and generosity to others.
